The second China International Rescue & Salvage Conference took place on the “Number One President” traveling ship while journeying through the three gorges of the Yangtze River from 7th-9th, Sep, 2005. With a theme of “discuss about China’s rescue & salvage development and the present and future situation of the international academic exchange on rescue & salvage”, 152 scholars,distinguished guests and exhibitors from home and abroad attended the forum. This forum was hosted by the Rescue & Salvage Bureau of the Ministry of Communication and Salvage Committee of China Navigation Institute, and organized by Yantai Rescue & Salvage Bureau and Donghai Rescue & Salvage Bureau. Representatives present on the forum came from 86 rescue & salvage organizations, companies, research institutions from home and abroad. In the forum, another 8 member institutions were admitted the membership and souvenirs were presented to the 100th member units. On the forum, rescue & salvage experts and scholars from home and abroad carried out extensive academic exchanges and chose 10 outstanding theses for prize. 10 institutions including American Laurel, Germany Aerodata demonstrated and promoted an array of advanced rescue & salvage and diving equipment from home and abroad. The high-level deputies present on this conference, the academic atmosphere, brand-new thesis statements and variety of activities upgraded the conference. The International Lifeboat Federation President Rolf Westerstorm and International Rescue & Salvage Association President Hans Rooij went all way to participated in the forum. The China International Rescue & Salvage Conference gathered together for the first time the life-saving and property & environment saving experts. Deputies from Britain Lifeboat federation, U.S Coast Guard, India Coast Guard, Government Flying Service of HKSAR, China Taiwan Rescue & Salvage Association, Singapore Semco, American Titan, Holman Fenwick & Willan all made wonderful speeches. The manner in which this forum was organized had undergone not a little adjustment: branch meeting place on rescue and branch meeting room on salvage were set up, providing more opportunities for academic exchanges and communication as well as strengthening professionalism. At the same time, the number of the theses the foreign deputies submitted obviously went up and there were 9 these in the 19 these altogether. The deputy present in the conference reached consensus that the rescue & salvage work need more communication and sharing of experiences as well as more cooperation on the equipments and personnel training. |
